A manual firer with bulb isolation, bulb test, and remote firing capability is fairly simple to build using a domestic ES lamp fitting for the bulb. Other bulb types can be used by means of adapters.
A small 12v battery is used as the power source.
The rotary switch on this unit selects the function and the switch serves as both bulb test switch (the LED lights if the bulb is good) and firing switch. A jack socket in the side of the unit takes a long remote cable with another firing switch fitted on the end.
