Don't expect old guns to work immediately without some attention, the contacts and bulb fittings can be quite frail! |
Old
bulb flashguns These can sometimes be found quite cheaply in secondhand shops, (also from Wiliam Cress) and come in a variety of types for all kinds of bulbs. Some have fixed reflectors and others the folding 'fan' kind. With most guns the reflector is removable. Look for a gun with bulb test and manual fire features. Avoid any that take obsolete 22.5v batteries unless you are prepared to modify the gun to use a modern battery! Some of the later guns operate from 4 AA batteries, and the bigger guns for ES bulbs often use C cells. |
