Flashbulbs can be set off by static electricity (and strong electro-magnetic fields). Take care when handling and storing them. Never carry them loose in your pockets. Flashbulbs are incendiary devices, treat them as such. |

A flashbulb fired in close proximity to other bulbs (ie touching them) will set off the other bulbs. (This effect can be useful, several small bulbs can be taped together to fire simultaneously.) |

Flashbulbs get VERY hot when fired. Be careful when removing used bulbs from firers. If using a bulb and battery firing method, make sure your fingers are well away from the glass when you fire the bulb. |

Flashbulbs can (rarely) shatter when fired. Make sure you cover the bulb with something before firing near people's faces (a turkey roasting bag works well). If a bulb does shatter, pick up the bits of glass carefully. |

Be careful using flashbulbs with slaved flash. Misfires are likely if you are using sensitive slaves. Make sure you have isolated the bulb holder from the slave before inserting a new bulb into a slaved gun - the last thing you want is the bulb going off in your hand! |
